Corporate philosophy and quality policy

The development of Westfälische Drahtindustrie GmbH is an expression of a corporate policy that is directly related to the endeavour to achieve product quality and complete fulfilment of customer requirements.

The company management has an obligation to maintain and strengthen this reputation and defines its quality policy with the quality management system.

Sustainability – an integral part of WDI's corporate policy

The careful use of resources has a long tradition at WDI, long before the term "sustainability" became part of common vocabulary.

WDI's corporate policy sees the responsible use of resources not only as an economic matter of course, but also takes into account the impact the company and its actions have on the environment, employees, suppliers and society.

At WDI, we believe that the careful use of natural resources and fair and cooperative dealings with employees, business partners and other stakeholders have always been necessary in order to operate a successful and generally accepted company.

Energy policy principles

Westfälische Drahtindustrie GmbH (WDI) has set itself the goal of using energy frugally and sustainably.
WDI therefore endeavours to continuously improve energy efficiency within the company in order to conserve natural resources and increase its own competitiveness.

In order to achieve these goals, an energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001 is being introduced and continuously developed throughout the company.

Resolution of the Management Board

On 9 August 2012, the management of Westfälische Drahtindustrie GmbH decided to introduce an energy management system (EnMS) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001:2012 at the WDI sites in Hamm and Rothenburg.

Since June 2022, the premises of Westfälische Drahtindustrie GmbH (WDI) on Otto-Brenner-Straße in Hamm have been classified as a lower class operating area and is therefore subject to the basic obligations of the Hazardous Incident Ordinance.
